Fatemeh AZIZI participates at the femTUme’s WOMEN’S RESEARCH CONGRESS

The 2nd annual femTUme’s WOMEN’S RESEARCH CONGRESS took place at the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, TU Wien, on Wednesday 17th January 2024. FemTUme is a volunteer-led network, supported by the Dean’s Office and the Rector’s Office, connecting the professional and scientific women of the Faculty for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at TU Wien.

CESAREF was represented at the event by our PhD candidate Fatemeh AZIZI. The event featured diverse presentations, starting with a talk challenging traditional perceptions of women’s roles in the scientific community. This marked a significant step towards Promoting inclusiveness and breaking away from outdated stereotypes.

The remaining sessions comprised of three scientific presentations, each delivered by students from TU Wien, covering a range of disciplines. The congress concluded with a poster session, where 12 students showcased their work.

Fatemeh AZIZI participated in the poster session, presenting her research on “Predicting the thermal behaviour of steel ladles with advanced digital methods”.

This congress provided a valuable chance for me to share my work with individuals who may not be familiar with this specific area of study. It was motivating to observe women’s strengths in overcoming challenges and addressing gender discrimination within the scientific community and society. It inspired me to increase my efforts in advocating for women’s rights.” – Fatemeh AZIZI
