CESAREF doctoral candidate Cristian Bohorquez-Moreno, who is working with TataSteel IJmuiden/The Netherlands and Montanuniversity Leoben/Austria, visited Almatis Ludwigshafen for training on Synthetic Alumina Raw Materials and refractory castable matrix design. Different approaches, used for direct reduction of iron ore, were discussed and presented in the lab, these approaches will be tested in his project « Influence of H2 containing atmospheres on the thermo-mechanical behaviour of refractories ».
This a great example of how the CESAREF network is bringing together international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary scientists and engineers to work on important projects for the transformation towards carbon neutrality!
