The Global CIMTEC Conference “Materials in an Explosively Growing Informatics World” took place on June 20-24, 2024 in Montecatini Terme, Italy. The main objectives of the Conference were to:

• focus the latest advances and state-of-the art achievements of theoretical and computational approaches on fundamentals of materials science, processing and engineering;
• to evaluate and report on the state-of-the-art application of data driven accelerated discovery of new materials;
• to share updated theoretical studies and experimental works and to critically explore the opportunities offered by progress in materials research to further implement the overall performance of classical   computers and to meet the challenges of the novel frontiers of information processing up to quantum computing.
